Albeit an easy catch,
rabbit is so bland.

Ears pricked.
Saliva drips
its wetness
from her
glistening lips.

And even the ache
in her bullet-ridden haunch,
cannot halt the She Wolf’s
hazardous quest
to savour
the sweetness
of lamb flesh.

But, her pack remain oblivious
to the fact
that behind her perilous dawn raids
lies the undying lust to hear
the rush of blood
in her veins,
the pounding of her heart
in her heaving breast.

Alice, what can I say? You are ridiculously complimentary. Thank you for your words. As for a copy of my first book... a pipe dream... but if ever it happens, you will be way up there on the list of acknowledgements.

These words are delicious:

"Ears pricked.
Saliva drips
Its wetness
From her
Glistening lips."

Summons up a gorgeous image, I love it.

Walrus

I like this piece - it's very well written - but feel you could have done more with it. For the She Wolf to take the risks that she does in her daily life, the feeling of hunger and sport must be strong, oh so very strong; perhaps that could have come out more. But then, I maybe wrong.

No Fearless, I think you are probably right. Will take another look at it. Thanks.
