Fetch a Doctor!
This woman's awfully pale,
awfully thin,
just plain awful actually...

Can't you give her some pills
to give her appeal,
or synthetic peel
to offer aesthetic sanctuary...

Tell the surgeon to sharpen his knife!
Get the suction hose at the ready!
Rid us of this grotesque
ugly waste of life.

Correct the insulting deformity.

No! Caress it back to life.

Tell the medics to restrain her -
full body-bag to hide that frame -
gag in place to muffle that noise -
she's suited to being insane.

Ask not what illness
This patient has
Instead
Ask what person
This illness has
And let them be shed

Clear of dark clouds

Bobo, your soul has eagle-wings
to seek the rarer air
and claws to snatch, hot-ripped,
hunks of bloodied truth.

Dangerous, adamantine gifts
are yours.

Your ink is pain, your pen
self-hate.

When looking out, you see
with beauty's eyes, but
inturned your gaze turns enemy,
seeking ugliness only.

Had I the power to write remedy,
cure, solace in verse,
my every saving stanza
would be yours to wrap around

the wound you feel your life to be.

You write with luminous grace and clearly are blessed with great gifts, so, as Oscar said, most of us are in the gutter, but some look up at the stars - try looking up at the stars, then turning that beauty-dazzled gaze inward and find the inner constellations of your obviously beautiful self.

Love & Mercy,

Mike

I'm sorry if that was OTT and/or inappropriate, Bobo. An honest outpouring, but possibly insensitive.

Mike

Dearest Mike - no, not OTT, just very beautiful words from a very kin d and feeling soul. I'm not the totally miserable cow I may sound...I've been known to smile more than once each day...really...I occasionally even have a little giggle!

Thank you so much for your words,
