Swaying
I forgive the echo

I understand the draw

A very nice structure and almost an equal sentiment, Joanie.

Yes, great structure. I'm not sure I really understand what the first stanza says, but it sounds beautiful! And that's what counts here.

Thanks, Robin. I have no idea what the first stanza means either - it just came out as a result of the exercise. I am going to stick to the 'Emperor's new clothes' idea and claim that it has a very deep philosophical meaning! Glad it sounds beautiful to you!

I'm glad you don't have any idea, either, Joanie! But it came from inner inspiration, so it must have a deep meaning! Isn't poetry wonderful? As long as it SOUNDS good....!

I like the form you have used here - it sort of seems to underline the certainty of the words, and the sentiment of acceptance and hope which (i think?) runs through the piece.
Possibly I should leave analysis of the first stanza alone...leave it in its beatiful -sounding mystery, but I can't resist ... I took it to sum up this theme of acceptance - with 'swaying' (to life's beat- I thought ...i.e going with the flow...) and I took:
I forgive the echo
of fallen
leaves

to mean forgiving the time has passed and continues to pass...but perhaps that's just me...Anyway I like this poem very much, for the tone, form and sentiment (well the one I've assumed!)

Cheers, Kirsty

Thanks, Kirsty! That makes sense, I think. 'Acceptance' is what I was aiming for.

Joanie, I loved the first lines and the second and the third

The poem seems to have some deep philosophical meaning, urging the reader to go through it again and again, searching

Gosh everyone's come up with such great poems, loved them all.
