Whether as slowly as

raindrops

gently

filtering

through

thick

summer

foliage

or as swiftly as
the horror of an ungloved hand pulled back from an oven-hot dish,

time will surely pass

Nice Joanie, and economical, as Barbara says. Your spacing and abbreviated lines REALLY slows it down to illustrate the point.
