Secret Santa’s slashed his gifts
His belt and buckles tightened
And all around a joyless sound
His Ho-Ho-Ho seems frightened.
So it’s out with the old
And out with the new
And shameless and boldly
They'll stick with a few
And everyone wonders
– Aren’t you wondering as well –
If these cuts will bring peace
In our work, or be hell?

Timely - such dark thoughts will be concerning many theses days.
Taut and cohesive - thought second and fourth lines worked especially well.

Great, James! I liked it. Funny and unsettling at the same time. I liked the rhymes. It's an excellent response!

Liked this. A frightened Ho-Ho-Ho sums things up well.

Cheers

I agree - those first four lines sum it up. Well done.

Thank you all for the kind words. It's amazing how easy it is to focus, when somebody tells you your job is on the line!

James
