"In America, your children, they are scared of the bogeyman. Here in Malawi, we fear the BoogieWoman."
Mesi steps into her daughter's bedroom, strokes her hair, and then gently blows out the candle.
She moves closer to the microphone, and speaks in a whisper, afraid of waking the girl, "And it is not our children that are afraid, but us parents. She comes, and she takes children whenever she wants. There is nothing we can do to stop her. There is nowhere we can go for help."
Mesi wipes a tear from her eye before continuing, "We thought we were safe, that she had stopped, but now she has shed another partner, it will only be a matter of time before she returns."
From the distance, a faint beat grows ever louder.

Hi Ben

Great set-up and altogether spooky.
now she has shed another partner, it will only be a matter of time before she returns.

Is this topical? I think I've missed something.

October 2008! Come back to flash!!!
