Siesta

|
Post lunch and its
Seductive beckoning
To surrender
Into the languorous arms
Of the sensuous siesta
The pillow kisses away
The puckered furrows
Of a frenzied morning
Body and bed
Fuse in blissful flight
Travelling with speed
Into weightlessness
And unadulterated insight
And, as the duvet
Envelops
Protects
The subconscious is released
Into the light fantastic
Where forbidden fantasy
Becomes real-time reality
Where sprites delight
In kindred equanimity
Where pixies incite
In outrageous jocularity.
Where the untamed imagination
Is unleashed
Gives body
To dream
To weave the crazy web
Of a child
Wild,
Unfettered.
