Hi joanie,

It's a shame, isn't it? I remember the day my father was surprised to hear that I suffered from the Sunday night feeling, and now my own son too. For some it's the invasion of cares that you describe so well, for others it's a full blown depression as the weekly slavery looms close.
You've started me thinking as I read this on Monday morning, late for work.

Succinct capturing of a feeling I used to know all too well, Joanie.
Hey, guess what? I stopped doing that job and now...(wait for it)...don't mind going to work on a Monday morning at all!
Mind you, I'm poor as Hell...! But you can't have everything.

Hi Joanie - this is terrific and I know the feeling well! One tint grouch - felt the two 's' sounds so close together in "Monday's cares" broke the flow just a teensy weency bit, although I can see it would be awkward to word it any other way.
Beanie.

Sorry, Beanie - I thought I had replied to your response! Thanks for reading. I see what you mean about the 's' sounds, although there are actually lots of them! (even in my summary) Oh dear. Perhaps I'll just leave it!

Thanks for responding.

Hi joanie,
Very effective. The final 'Aargh' speaks volumes.
