Meditations
Posted: 03 March 2008 Word Count: 24 Summary: Some time ago, I suggested doing something in the style of Ogden Nash then promptly lost my meagre offering!! It has recently turned up in My Documents at work! Here it is for what it's worth; perhaps I could add to it.

At dinner with a glass of wine the contemplation is all mine.
At breakfast while the Krispies pop the thoughtful musings fail to stop.

I agree with Maria; it'd be fun to see this 'conceit' (see Tina!) worked through from dawn to dusk - from breakfast to supper, say, or beginning as you do with dinner, and taking it round again to the same point, including night and, perhaps, a midnight snack!
Write on,
Mike

This does seem complete. All I can think of for a third verse would be to move on to lunchtime - which might risk making the point once too often! But why not stay in this groove, and write more in the same style? There can never be enough Ogden Nash, he should have lived to be 104 to produce even more like
The cow is of the bovine ilk;
One end is moo, the other, milk. |

Someone has to carry on the tradition!
James.

Seeing Mike's comment makes me think twice. Maybe you could go right round the clock. Instead of lunch there might be a verse about being at work, meditating while appearing to be busy.

This made me smile - and I like it as it is - I think if you went for the whole day you might lose your audience a bit - but Iloved it thanks

Thanks, Tina. I must admit, I really don't want to add any more. I'll leave it. Thanks for reading.
