Old Age

Old age hit her like a hammer and though her mind buckled,
not a single scratch was found on her soul. Old age was brought to power
but her resistance was unbowed, old age stole the minutes from her hours
but could not touch the moment of her smile. Old age shook her nerve
like an earthquake in a bottle, but could not loose a mothers grip on her child,
could not cover up her tremor of pride. Old age pushed down on her tiny frame
until a maze of soft nerves opened in her nature, giving birth to her last ever curse.
Courage is to be more afraid than forever takes, still walk in front of eternity's guns
hand in hand with your lover worn brighter than any sun, both hearts blazing
old age slung between the blossom trees, death hanging from life's burning fuse.

I like the imagery you put down. I like the sadness. I like the shape. I think this is job well done.
