Flies

I thought that I’d philosophise
Upon the reason God made flies
Whose only purpose, aim, and status
Is buzz around and irritate us
But then again I would surmise
Looked at through their compound eyes
The biggest defect in His plan
Was actually creating Man
I’d guess the feeling held by flies
Is that they’re noble, brave, and wise
While we just flatten ‘em with papers
Despite their efforts to escape us
Upon the reason God made flies
Whose only purpose, aim, and status
Is buzz around and irritate us
But then again I would surmise
Looked at through their compound eyes
The biggest defect in His plan
Was actually creating Man
I’d guess the feeling held by flies
Is that they’re noble, brave, and wise
While we just flatten ‘em with papers
Despite their efforts to escape us
