Bri-nylon
was such an innovation
with its crease-free
vibrant non-fade exuberance.

Twenty years on
we have moved back to
the earthy goodness of
cotton, pure wrinkle-laden linen,

wool, fresh from the
sheep.... or was it
a goat? Natural goodness
laid bare; ironing is

a renewable chore.

Hi Joanie, Liked that
renewable chore
concept.

I think you could lose 'was' and 'with its' from the first stanza, for conveniences sakeheehee.

the earthy goodness of
cotton, pure wrinkle-laden linen,

Not sure whether the cotton and linen shouldn't change places. Wrinkled linen is terribly hard on the bum :)

Loved the thought of the sheep - or was iot the poor goat - laid bare! And of course as ewe say (sorry) renewable!

Hi Joanie,
I liked this a lot. Twenty years on and wrinkle-laden myself, I'm still seduced by wash-and-wear. Keep smiling.

Hi Joanie
Thought provoking.

I wonder how much energy it costs to iron something, compared to the amking of the bri-nylon stuff. I had an eco-dilemma the other day, having ordered special and rather more biodegradeable packaging, on delivery I saw it had made in the USA. (Maybe it came by boat?) Elsie

Like this very much. And you've transported me back to student days, when I'd put on my best nylon shirt to go to parties!

I also liked your expression "renewable chore"! That said, most of my shirts for work were non-iron cotton - the best of both worlds?

Elsie and Steve, many thanks! Yes, it's a difficult one, Elsie, this eco-friendly thing. Nylon shirts, Steve! Hope you kept them all; they'll be back in fashion soon.
