Dorothy Dean from Gretna Green,
bought herself a washing machine.
It kept her cottons spotlessly clean -
the way that Dorothy liked them seen.

One day, when Dorothy opened the door,
gallons of water poured over the floor!
She took the washer back to the store,
but, sadly, the shop didn’t trade anymore.

But luckily for Dorothy,
the shop’s extended warranty,
gave cover for years two and three,
and promised a replacement - free!

So, when Dorothy Dean got home,
she rang the company on the phone,
and adopting a firm (but reasonable) tone,
related the tale of her waterlogged home.

Now a spotless Dorothy Dean,
has a brand new washing machine.
The insurance people I’m glad to say
sent her a new one right away.

They even gave Dorothy recompense,
replacing the carpet the washer had drenched!
The lesson to learn as I’m sure you will see…
Is to always invest in a guarantee!!
