Blow out the sun,
Turn off the moon,
Crumble the mountains,
For the end is soon,

Stamp on the flowers,
Strip the trees bare,
Turn land into marsh,
For i no longer i care,

Tear up the clouds,
Drain the sea dry,
Pull down the stars,
And wave goodbye,

Silence the birds,
Take back what you give,
Paint over the sky,
There's no reason to live.

This is very poignant, and very similar to the famous poem by WH Auden - 'Stop all the Clocks' - do you know that piece or were you influenced by it?

Apart from writing scripts and stories I write songs for my band and I love the style of this poem. It flows beautifully and has meaning to it, which is delivered with richness. Lovely

I like the rhythm of this poem too. And, yes I too see a similarity in idea to 'Stop All the Clocks'. However, I think the idea is so universal (in that it's something we can all relate to and have felt at times), that I don't think you necessarily had to have ever read the Auden piece to write this.

Good poem. I hope you're OK though.

I know the dark side of the heart too. Your poem says it so well. Take care.
