She despised herself and all she ever was
The body she inhabited repulsed her
Through life she was always rejected
Never a colour, a pink or a blue, but black

She stared in nothingness and saw relief
The rest that only she could witness
Her dreams became elaborate theories
Endless smiles at the twists and quirks

She continued to suffer, building it all up to the day
To the precise time when she would show the world
The strength of her favourite word fired her more
Her silence went as it was to, to others around

On that beautiful sunrise she was away then
Found in the kitchen with a tear in her eye
But a smile on her face that only I can ever know
All this I see on the little silver screen behind my eyes

Rai, this is very powerful. There are some amazing images here- and it works particularly well when you choose simple words and phrases. The first and last 2 lines struck me. It seems to me that lines like 'Her silence went as it was to, to others around' could be cleaned up a bit and flow in a simpler way. Lovely.

Thanks Anna, as I'm under the weather at the moment I can't quite remember what i meant by the line "Her silence went as it was to, to others around". But I'm sure that as soon as I figure it out i'll find a way to make it flow smoother. Thanks again.
