Harangue me ludicrously
With logical arguments.

Foretell an unpalatable future
A future, always uncast.

Predict a barbed path
Driven by divisive demons.

Tell me I will sever
A blissful bond,
So strong.

Deride me
For wallowing
In enchanted waters.

Cast my heart’s light
Into the bottomless black pit.

Dare me to dream
The implausible.

To all this and more
You have my ear.

But, with respect
I laugh in the face of impossibility
The oyster is my world
Rules are made to be broken.

'Cast my heart’s light
Into the bottomless black pit.'

Very strong.

Err... yes it is.

The Walrus, with no plans to give up the day job.

Maybe you could give it up, maybe you could...

One can't win the lottery, if one doesn't buy the tickets.

You're writing your own tickets, in case you hadn't noticed that you had written lots of lovely poems and had posted them on a writers website.

Oh, that.... err yes, temporary aberration.

Temporary?
Permanent methinks
Aberration?
Future truth I see
Nonsensical ostrich!
For while you have lifted your head
The sand in your eyes distorts
Your perception of reality
Wake up!
And realise your gift of poetry

Carry on laughing in the face of impossibility Walrus and dreaming the implausible... so few dare to tread that path, but the ones that do live life most truly and fully.

Thanks for such an uplifting defiant piece.

A great start to my day!

Glad the my paltry offering could cast a ray of sunshine into someone's day.

Maybe the intended reader of the poem has got the message.
