Born again, he rose
from the flames
of a Jamaican sun.
Slow rising
Natural Mystic,
passion burning
for freedom, uprising.
Dreadlocked jewel
inspired by herb,
a mind rampant
for peace, harmony
Rastafarian brothers,
sisters of Jamaica,
Africa, worldwide.
Reggae revolution,
a legend's message
like a tidal wave,
he opened their eyes
in life, and death,
Rasta prophet

I liked the pace of this Lisa, it must have been very dificult to keep it so tight and within the same form - and so reflective of the subject.

Hi Lisa - this is like a modern psalm, a hymn of praise to Bob Marley. It recites his virtues and aspects of his legend in a very insistent rhythm. You do keep it tight, and like Brian I like the pace. I'm no expert on Marley, but were you writing in a rhythm that corresponds in some way to his music?

From what little I do know, I'd say he deserves hymns of praise - poems in his memory. I'm afraid most modern popular music leaves me cold, but every so often an artist appears who's light years ahead of the rest. Marley is one of those, I think - and Hendrix too, in a very different way.

James.

Thank you Brian and James

Yes Hendrix is another one of my heroes. An inspirational legend and an amazing guitarist and performer with attitude. I think I was born too late

A heartfelt tribute to a great soul - he would definitely have appreciated this.

Best,

T
