What if?
In the Land of Lala,
Inhabited by a dizzy bint,
Someone extraordinary,
Someone spinning in a whirlwind,
A kaleidoscope of colour, of texture
Strutted with no apology
Into your life.
And you didn’t know
Quite how that fit?
But, when you screwed up your eyes
You knew that it was right.

An irreverent son of a gun
Against whom you could pit
You’re weird wit.
And, against every obstacle
Flung across the haphazard path
Didn’t balk, didn’t laugh.
And even in your most
Outlandish flights of fancy
Upon the crazy carousel
Would stay the course,
Ride with you,
Upon the backs of bucking broncos
Venturing into the dreamlands of reality
Fly through the lights years
Of technicolor wonderment
To a galaxy exuding
The sweet, defiant scent
Of Jasmine.

What would you do?
Would you walk away?
I don’t think so.

Hi Walrus -

I love this...God, if only that could happen to us all. But then maybe people would walk away, too intimidated, too overwhelmed, to be able to deal with it.

Maybe, but who gives a flying f@*k. I don't compromise anymore and, if they can't stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen...

Harsh, but true...

Hmmmm, a great poem. But does such a person exist? Perhaps there is one in each of our lives, but we haven't 'screwed up our eyes' to truly see them.

Nobody is truly alone.

Course such people exist! They tend to pop up when you stop fearing.

And, yes, I agree, noone is truly alone.

The Walrus singing:

'Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrilly, merrilly,
Merrilly, merrilly,
Life is but a dream.'

Interesting line in the second stanza 'dreamlands of reality'.....

Yes, dreamlands of reality... seemingly paradoxical? Some would say, and if they did, I would agree, but remind them that behind every paradox, there lies undiluted truth.

The Walrus, clearly needing to take the Philosopher's Pill.

The person exists. Glad you can now see him.
A whirlwind in your life, but always there.

Thanks Alice, ...wouldn't have it any other way.
