A First Meeting

If the very thought of you
Makes my heart skip a beat,
What will it be like for me?
If we, were actually to meet.
Could I keep my composure?
And act off hand and cool,
Or would I stammer
Like a child in primary school.
Would I sweetly kiss you?
Or merely shake your hand,
Will I speak incoherently?
And will you understand.
At night I am sleepless
Thinking of what will be
When we finally meet each other,
For it means so much to me.
Then I simply close my eyes
And I know all will be fine
When I look into your eyes
And you see yourself in mine.
Makes my heart skip a beat,
What will it be like for me?
If we, were actually to meet.
Could I keep my composure?
And act off hand and cool,
Or would I stammer
Like a child in primary school.
Would I sweetly kiss you?
Or merely shake your hand,
Will I speak incoherently?
And will you understand.
At night I am sleepless
Thinking of what will be
When we finally meet each other,
For it means so much to me.
Then I simply close my eyes
And I know all will be fine
When I look into your eyes
And you see yourself in mine.
