Unwaxed must be better for medicinal purposes
Lemons store goodness ready to be released as soon as
Honey mixes with hot water in the heat-proof glass
Until the whisky plays its minimal part and somehow
Healing takes place. Full restoration could take four or five.

Ah, the dreaded man-flu season is beginning. What I'd do for a day in bed with a hot toddy and healing home-made soup...

Very funny. Four or five at least if my own 'man-flu' (aka a slight cold) is anything to judge by.

Thanks Elsie and Tony. I have to say that he's not calling it 'flu', but the rest of it is true! I think he's building up to another few medicinal ones this evening.
Thanks for reading.

Brought a big smile to my face because it is just SOOOO true. My husband - bless his darling heart - is quite pathetic when flu strikes (although I must admit he does seem to get heavy bouts and they nearly always seem to strike around Christmas time!).
Must admit I like Smudger's idea - at leastfive days in bed sounds completely delicious - add to that the hot toddy (the only time I touch Scotch is when I'm full of cold)- pure heaven.
But chance would be a fine thing!
Nice little piece; thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Beanie. Can't stop - just off to make yet another hot toddy!! My husband is much improved and I'm knackered.
Actually, I'm fine. Can't complain!

Lovely! Another seasonal classic - and sooo true! However, I think it's true of me rather than of my husband, who NEVER gets flu!! I think I must have promised at the wedding to have all the illnesses for both of us ...

Never mind, Joanie - at least I get to stay in and watch Star Trek rather than being active today!!!
