Left behind

|
I am in mourning
I follow your anonymous coffin
with molecules of tears
Whilst
in the meanwhile
i regret
my choice of footwear
I taste the salt
and balk
at your cold, marble stare
On my shoulders is the weight
of potential marvelousity
But in my hasty retreat
I choose a strappy-skinny-ankled number
with heels too high for comfort
And then I fall
And then I fall
And then I fall.....
I follow your anonymous coffin
with molecules of tears
Whilst
in the meanwhile
i regret
my choice of footwear
I taste the salt
and balk
at your cold, marble stare
On my shoulders is the weight
of potential marvelousity
But in my hasty retreat
I choose a strappy-skinny-ankled number
with heels too high for comfort
And then I fall
And then I fall
And then I fall.....
