55 Word Flash Fiction
Youth
A scruffy hut had appeared in the tree into which my sweetheart and I had once carved our love and, worse, her name had been crudely scraped away. Aghast, I climbed up and peered within.
It was full of sullen teenagers, one of whom spat cola into my face and said, "Welcome to Youngsville, Granddad."

Ouch! Stinging stuff, Rob. I hope you'll consider taking out full membership here - I couldn't recommend it too highly for the difference it's made to my motivation and confidence.

All the best

Hi Rob

Got a chain-saw. Aged guile beats youthful exuberance every time. Alternatively you could chuck a crate of brown ale at 'em.

I'm with Tiger, if Flash is your thing sign-up. Best 35 quids worth I have ever had.

Hi Rob.

Not so welcoming then!

Nice tight flash at 55 words. I wonder which of the blaggards had defaced the sweethearts name?

Welcome to Flash Fiction I Rob!

Nice one Rob!
Scenario and resolution all in a tight 55 words.

And I'm with the others - chop the tree down - just above the carved initials!!

I look forward to reading more of your work.

All the best
