TOP OF THE WORLD?

Posted: 01 June 2006 Word Count: 76 Summary: Did anyone see that recent news item about the theme park ride that left dozens of people hanging upside down for quarter of an hour? I know it wasn't a laughing matter - but I just couldn't help myself with this poem - God forgive me!!!!!! |
|
Dangling upside down
sixty feet above the ground,
I feel the drag of lives
screaming past.
The blood's rushing to my head
and I'd rather be in bed,
could someone come and rescue us
- and fast.
We came here for the day,
for laughter thrills and play
and didn't know our lives
were on the brink.
I will not hurry back.
I am about to crack.
Get me down -
I really
need a drink!
sixty feet above the ground,
I feel the drag of lives
screaming past.
The blood's rushing to my head
and I'd rather be in bed,
could someone come and rescue us
- and fast.
We came here for the day,
for laughter thrills and play
and didn't know our lives
were on the brink.
I will not hurry back.
I am about to crack.
Get me down -
I really
need a drink!
