TOP OF THE WORLD?

Summary: Did anyone see that recent news item about the theme park ride that left dozens of people hanging upside down for quarter of an hour? I know it wasn't a laughing matter - but I just couldn't help myself with this poem - God forgive me!!!!!!

Dangling upside down
sixty feet above the ground,
I feel the drag of lives
screaming past.

The blood's rushing to my head
and I'd rather be in bed,
could someone come and rescue us
- and fast.

We came here for the day,
for laughter thrills and play
and didn't know our lives
were on the brink.

I will not hurry back.
I am about to crack.
Get me down -
I really
need a drink!

Hi Beanie Baby

You made me laugh too. We're both in need of absolution! Easy to read - a fun piece. Loved it! (Have to feel a bit sorry for the poor souls in question tho'.......)

Best wishes

Kate

Hi Beanie. What a nightmare that must have been! All you can do is laugh, I supppose.

Nice one. I like the rhymes and the use of the 'line'.

A good bit of fun. Taking the RLG and running with it.

Great fun! A very British response to this kind of experience - my responses are late mainly because at the weekend the plane I was in nearly crashed into the sea - although terrifying, the Brits amongst us were soon cracking jokes - our way of coping with fear?

Hi,

I really enjoyed this take on the RLG, very amusing and sharply observed.
