The Life you have lived -
All the hurt and the tears,
The merciless beatings of your Innocent years,
Has made you the diamond among us this day;
He with deep insight and wise words to say.
He with the Melancholy, He with the charm,
He with Charisma to so readily disarm.
He with a true sense of all that is Real -
He who thinks deeply and knows how to Feel.
He with the Humour to so entertain.
He who has so much to show for his Pain.

Cheers Woz. It's about a good friend of mine who had the most horrific childhood - amazing how some people manage to overcome such adversity!

thought you said you couldnt write poetry

ifit was mine I would take out the 'all' in line 2

and the 'has' in line 4

and I would kill the capitals at the beginning of and in each line, but I am not a great fan of capital letters in poetry. i think they cause an nneccesary jarto the flow of the thing but that is just me

i love this though

Cheers David -

I didn't say I couldn't, just that it's not really my 'thing'! Thanks for your comments - you're right, I'll change accordingly.
