My oh my, Joanie. This is good stuff - amazing metaphor for spring. Love the allusion to the cold of winter:
While we waited,
in the shade
of her closet |

makes me feel like we were wrapped up in winter clothes - hiding in the wardrobe in our mothers' woolies.

Hi joanie,
Liked the metaphor about the closet, although, after a brief excursion, we're all back inside shivering now...

Like your line/verse breaks here Joanie -something I'm pondering on after James G's article....the way 'shade' sort-of dangles, is super!

Thanks, tc. Much appreciated! It's amazing what a difference a line break can make isn't it? That would be a useful excercise, I think, ..... as I am typing I am suddenly reminded of an exercise we did in Poetry Seminar. I think we all took the same piece of prose and set it out as a poem. Mmmmm... I shall have to look through the archives.
Thanks again.

Look under 'Groups' - Poetry 1. It's the latest thread there.
