Time to get up,
move on out the flat.
Go to get stuff done.

I won’t move.
It’s beyond me,
I’m staying here all day.

Come on Bob,
get up you lazy git.
You have things to get done.

No, I’m staying here,
I can’t be arsed,
I have better things to do.

Like what?
You’d only watch TV.
All day sat there like a big fat lump.

So what?
I’ve earned it,
leave me alone.

I can’t mate,
I’m in here with you,
wherever you go.

Well then I’m not listening to you.
You get on my wick,
always telling me what to, and not to do.

Its all good advice,
you should listen to me sometimes,
you never do.

I know I don’t,
but that’s my choice.
Now leave me be,
I’ve sleeping to do.

I think you noted a valid point here - that the greatest contradictions are those inner turmoils. A well-realised piece.
I can’t be arsed
Is this the new motto for the Twenty-First Century, I often wonder?

Bob - how often have I felt like this? The song of us all, I feel. I enjoyed reading this!

Hi Bob,

This made me smile. The only thing that jarred a bit was the repetition of a few words: move, done, you, do - you could look at those, perhaps trim a little. Nice one!

Hi Bob. I know the feeling but I am usually the opposite! My final verse would have to be in the vein of "Stop tempting me - I have to get on!"

I like the idea of an arguing monologue.

Hey all :)

Thanks, This is a pretty regular feeling for me :) Trynna figure out how to change that last verse of a morning is the tricky bit I think :)
