Flash Poetry #9: The Red One

Summary: I have just watched a film called 'What the (bleep) do we know?' - a story and a documentary rolled into one. Hard to explain but it's about the links between spirituality & quantum physics & what that might mean for us. Highly recommended. So I wanted to take a quote from that - do what you want with it! It is: 'How far do you want to go down the rabbit hole?'

Of I course I took the red one
You shouldn't have to ask
I've spent my life asleep here
I wouldn't go and pass

The chance to be awake for once
To grasp the thorn of choice
My desert may not quite be real
But there I have a voice

A strength the herd can never
Quite understand, or grasp
Of course I took the red one
You shouldn't have to ask

Hi

I liked this , it has an almost 'ditty' like quality to it that is fitting with Alice in Wonderland, where of course, the reference comes from.

I stumbled a little bit over 'A strength the herd can never Quite understand' and wondered whether it read better without the 'quite'?

Good stuff.
