Down Time

You’re fading now
Falling from your grace
The seamless frustrations
The disjointed memories
Just detached moments
Like tiny, unbirthed pearls
They form photons
Miniscule packages of light
Just marginal glimpses
Sideway glances
Fast forward
Pause and play
Virtual mediums
Like carriages on a train
One follows the other
So that when it ends
I lie perfectly still
On those parallel lines
Waiting for the next train
Hoping that one will halt
Strapped to those tracks
Like some pale, tortured actress
Like some black and white silent movie
Overmouthing words
Exaggerating body language
In the hope that someone
Will understand
Your dilemma
My situation
Fits and starts
Brakes and gas
You and me
Falling from your grace
The seamless frustrations
The disjointed memories
Just detached moments
Like tiny, unbirthed pearls
They form photons
Miniscule packages of light
Just marginal glimpses
Sideway glances
Fast forward
Pause and play
Virtual mediums
Like carriages on a train
One follows the other
So that when it ends
I lie perfectly still
On those parallel lines
Waiting for the next train
Hoping that one will halt
Strapped to those tracks
Like some pale, tortured actress
Like some black and white silent movie
Overmouthing words
Exaggerating body language
In the hope that someone
Will understand
Your dilemma
My situation
Fits and starts
Brakes and gas
You and me
