Flash Poetry #7: Gifts

by Cailleachna

Word Count: 50
Summary: I don't know about you, but I could do with a break from 'the X of Y go ZZZZZ'. How about a Countdown poem [only ten lines]?

Sun up, sun down, she breathes - no sound greater
Sharp wind, wild storm, her choice; we can wait
Rain falls, ground drinks, long time coming
Light cover of snow, we sleep
Warm sun rising on us
She wakes us gently
We stretch and yawn
Today we
Burn it
All

I'll leave my comments in tomorrow morning's judgement.

Fascinating and a very well done for a piece I thought about but didn't attempt. You deserve kudos. Do you use that word in the UK? I forget. I need to visit again soon. I want to explore the south of England near Devonshire where I know I have a few thousand cousins.

There is nothing more I can say about your poem. It is totally charming and visually works.
