The Tumble

the tumble of day hung along the street

winter girls in summer skirts combing bars
and autumn men watching for spring boys

a blue boozy flame licks over them both ways
these staggering raped angels left holy intact

their dreams of fucks remaindered to kisses
& the quick body search of a slow witted cop

the tumble of days hanging from their meets.

Hi John

This has set me thinking. I do like the winter girls in summer skirts. Reminds me of winter in Scotland! Very well observed although I think I am going to have to think about this a bit more. S

Time tumbles by so fast and it cannot be eaten all at once. I love the fifth line, the unexpected words, the violent and the sacred cheek to cheek. Nikki
