The Opportunist

|
He looked inscrutably at me
but i knew what thoughts were meant
his pale wheat fluffiness
no disguise for the bold intent
he stretched a paw as if to say
I'll take my time with you
I'll wrap you round it anyway
cos I have the knack of that
he willed me to the cupboard
where a special tin was hid
his green eyes hypnotised me
as I prised the tuna lid
oh why am I such a sucker
for this persian alley cat
with choreographed purring flurries
his tail just twitched a tad
he deigned a thanks with half closed eyes
by letting me stroke his back
then he tiptoed out in the garden again
to revert to a feral cat
