DEMOCRACY AND THE NIGERIAN DREAM

======================================
Now the tempest fade fast
like the wayward northern wind
Hope gathers across our hearts
peeping and shinning like rays of sunshine

Pain and chaos drift into a deep slumber
snooping like an over weight concubine

The joy of a long awaited dream
Spread over our hearts

To bring rest to all that atleast believe
Comfort every sufferer that wait in earnest

Those of ill-thoughts from it restrain
Once hope of Now lives with us

Democracy the Nigerian dream

I really liked your poem, especially where it says:

Hope gathers across our hearts
peeping and shinning like rays of sunshine

Pain and chaos drift into a deep slumber
snooping like an over weight concubine

Having lived in Lagos, one gets the impression that people seem to accept what is 'dished' out to them without hitting out or fighting back (with exception of the newspapers). But you also know that people remain hopeful and long for a Nigeria that is properly run. These lines quickly take my mind to all this very well. Plse do more
