Sitting in a world where the bluebells sing
Wondering about the daffadowndillies
And the Highland Fling.

Sounds of the river bubbling and giggling by
Small hands clasped in bigger hands
Make one feel safe, like a mother’s lullaby.

And on a cloud, a man sits as it’s pulled through the sky by his parrot
Silently they gallop to the rainbow, one is reminded
Of the warriors and their chariots.

Mountains that move and escape to the sea
Where the mermaids swim. The fantasies and realities of life
Blend, allowing the imagination to run free.

If Such Things Happen, then laugh and do a jig,
Said the carrot with a penchant
For ripe figs,
Run out into the sunshine
And make like Bacchus and drink too much pink wine,
Oh, sitting in a world where the bluebells sing,
Wondering about the daffadowndillies
And the Highland Fling.

This is lovely, Laura. It is very visual, lots of colours and fragrancies and comes over as being wistful! Puts me in mind of snoozing on a sunny afteroon and those momentary dreams that sometimes come and go when you nod off and don't realise you have. I found it calming and charming.
