Hi, I was born in 1978 in a little place called South Yorkshire, hence the name spookily enough.
I've been into film and television since... well before I can remember. I have my Dad to thank for that. He introduced me to the world of film and sci-fi at a very early age (Alien, Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blade Runner - You name it, I watched it!!!). I have strived to keep a keen interest in both, most especially film ever since (but we'll come to more of that later).
I've been in engineering for 10 years now. I've gained qualifications in the job that I currently do (An ONC, HNC and a HND in Mechanical and Production Engineering). Incidentally, I'm a draughtsman, or to put it in layman's terms, "I'm a bloke that does drawings on a computer."
After 5 years of practicing as a hobby I have finally decided to venture out into the wide world of writing (I don't know if this is a clever thing to do or not, only time will tell!!!). I want to take it one little baby step at a time and see what happens.
And now back to what I mentioned earlier, my fanatical ways towards film and all things associated with it. I decided, as of a year ago, that it was time to take a little bit of what I know and put it to good use. I took an A Level course in Film Studies, and passed with flying colours (much to my surprise I should point out!. What I have learnt from this course has opened my eyes and made me look at the subject I love in a whole new way.
Ultimately though, what I would love to do is write. I love the buzz and thrill I get from creating new characters, plot, and dialogue. (And I've got no doubt that I'm not the only one to admit this!!!). And because of this I am now taking a degree in Screenwriting.
