I am freelance writer who is seeking commissions from magazines and newspapers. I live in Greece, on Corfu, where having taken early retirement my life goes from one adventure to another.
I have some experience as a journalist and recently wrote a regular column for ‘The Corfiot’; Corfu’s monthly paper for the large ex-pat population on the island. I have also written for Yachting Monthly – an IPC glossy, as well as many other publications.
I have some photographic experience and recently took some shots for ITN for their coverage of the Mandelson/Rothschild story here in Corfu.
I started a new life on the island three years ago having sailed here from Scotland with my husband, and we now live happily in a pretty olive grove overlooking the sea. I spend much of my time writing; currently I am in the process of completing my second novel. I also enjoy walking on the island and paddling a kayak in the coastal waters.
We keep our sailing boat here and during the summer months we tour either the Greek islands, Turkey, Croatia or Italy and Sicily. Next summer we plan to explore the Balkan states, particularly Albania and Montenegro. Ample scope for adventure, stories and more reporting!
I have been through the whole process of buying a house here. We bought off-plan; a house built in a traditional style, which we designed ourselves, we now consider ourselves well ‘broken-in’ to the process – if somewhat jaded! I am happy to relate this experience both positively, and negatively, if need be, for property pages.
