Nell Grey  
 


Nell Grey was born in 1947, and brought up in the South of England, although she lived for many years in Southern Africa. She has spent most of her life as an artist, exhibiting with The Society of Women Artists, The National Acrylic Painters Association and other societies, but in 2003 published her first novel, Solitary Pleasures. This was followed in 2004 by The Golden Web, the result of a lifelong fascination with myth, magic, and the origin and practice of esoteric religions, and in 2006 by Three Magic Women, both prequel and sequel to The Golden Web.

She lives in Sussex, and is currently working on the final book in the trilogy that began with The Golden Web.

She has published stories, articles and poetry in various small magazines, and a short story, Fear of Bulls, was a prizewinner in Writers' Forum Magazine. A prizewinning poem in the 2007 Mirehouse Poetry Prize. Shortlisted for the Flame Anthology and the Cadenza Short Story Competition in 2004. Received an Honourable Mention in the Fandango Virtual Short Story Contest in 2005. Poems in Smiths Knoll, Obsessed with Pipework, Iota, Weyfarers, Poetry Monthly, South and Littoral magazines, also Automatic Lighthouse - the 2006 tall lighthouse anthology.
