I currently live in Dharamsala, Northern India virtually next door to his Holiness Fourteenth Dalai Lama. I took early retirement from the medical profession in 2006 to live here permanently, study Buddhism and meditation. I travel extensively and write non-fiction and fiction.

My first novel entitled ‘Trekking the Path’ is my own personal story of a 21 day trek that I undertook somewhat reluctantly in 2007. The journey took me across Zanskar and Ladakh through perhaps one of the most remote areas of the Himalayas in Northern India. Crossing nine high altitude peaks, the story describes the physical and mental hardships, highs and lows, experienced during the trek and combines this with a light hearted approach to Buddhist philosophy.

I describe myself as an ‘awful Buddhist’, but have had the great fortune to have met personally with His Holiness Dalai Lama. I have undertaken several meditation retreats including an arduous three month retreat in the Himalayas, I continue to strive to achieve what the Buddhists call ‘calm abiding’ but to date I have had only moments of calmness, although I do abide quite well!!

I am looking for a publisher for Trekking the Path.
