James Murray

I spent my boyhood in rural Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas before moving to Houston, Texas in my early teens. I graduated from Houston Lamar High School in 1967.

I logged fourteen years of commissioned service as a carrier jet aviator. I left active duty as a Lieutenant Commander.

I hold dual citizenship in the USA and the UK.

I have been a writer all my life. In the Navy I contributed articles on various subjects to the Proceedings of the Naval Institute and periodicals, as well as a number of technical and classified publications.

As a freelance technical writer I wrote the users' guides for various groundbreaking digital display devices. As a Gateway employee I wrote the manuals for that company's first laptop computers, the Nomad series, and several others.

I was a regional editor for Travelhostmagazine. I wrote
feature articles, reviews and interviews on a regular basis for four years.

I have written two novellas and one full-length stage play. I took several courses in screenwriting at UCLA and have written several screenplays.
