I'm an Essex boy who has lived in Scotland since the age of twenty-one. I used to enjoy bashing away at a little Olivetti portable typewriter from time to time, collecting rejection slips, until the need to get a proper job left it lying idle in the basement.

And then, for no apparent reason, I took an OU course called "Start Writing Fiction" which has rekindled my enthusiasm to write - just for the sheer pleasure of it. This was followed by OU's A215 Creative Writing course.

Current projects include http://thecyclistwhodeclaredpeace.blogspot.com and Alphabet Soup: Essays on an unravelling state of mind.'

My Writewords name is 'Albatross' because I enjoy making kites and I have previously sold a few as "The Albatross Kite Company" but that's another story...
