Born at an early age in Gloucestershire I returned after a tortuous journey some 15 years or so ago. I travelled via a rather a now famous school near Ipswich, 'Woolverstone Hall' ( famous not least because John Pirtle was also a student there along with some lesser knowns) thence to Hove, a while serving the Queen, then back to Hove, on to London, Hemel Hempstead, Bletchley, Sheffield, Bristol and eventually to The Forest.
I guess I have written most of my life, but only with any degree of conviction over the last 10 years.
It seems that some people like what I write, which has culminated in a number of my poems being published in anthologies, both in the UK and the USA and this followed by my being approached by a literary agent at the backend of 2003 who now represents me.
Redundancy in early 2003 caused me to rethink my life and I decided to concentrate on my writing and my desire to encourage others to write. I enrolled for a number of courses including CEFET and working in Community Arts.
I was fortunate in being offered a post with Forest of Dean Community Radio which allows me to broadcast and make programmes and teach others broadcasting skills. I also now teach Creative Writing for a Community Arts Organisation and a number of other organisations within the County and have recently been accepted to study for a BA(hons) in creative Writing and Broadcast Journalism.
So I guess I am broke but happy.
