Cas Stavert is a writer of historical fiction and an adult education worker who has lived for most of her life in Edinburgh.
She has always read a lot of historical fiction so when she started writing herself, the ideas that came were for historical subjects. It seemed only natural to set her novels in Scotland.
Like many writers she has a novel sitting in her bottom drawer that she is determined will never see the light of day. Fortunately, she's written a lot since then, and is a much better writer than she used to be. She's now working on her third novel, while she begins her rejection slip collection for the second.
