The Pin

light penetrated the dark of the curtains
held together by a pin
she stared at the shadowed form
that rose above her

disembodied she let her mind wander
who was this soul she had let into her darkened room
to plunder her body to sate an appetite
in the mere hope of chancing upon nirvana

they had come together from a lonely place
each hoping the other would provide the clue
but the closer their bodies touched the wider the
space between them grew
