Nature

Word Count: 112
Summary: For Sri Lanka & all the victims of the tide.

Natures

a human sea laps the ripped tide
a broken coast line of sapient foam,
splinters of people fired into our hearts
the Buddha's blood mixed in a crazed bowl,

our love spurts over the vaults of Iraqi dead
towards the blasted paradise of Sri Lanka,
nature storms the bleachers of our bones
love sucked out & spat into the raw dark,

here water is thicker than blood
& squeezed rock begins to bleed
here mud fills empty eye wells & skin
pops open under wedding rings,

yet extinct beings are transformed
into acts of love, beside the bodies
of our species we are made human
nature conservationists or nothing.
