I want my lover to be mine

I want my lover to be mine
Regardless of modern practises
Filling us with moral junk food
Eating temporary sustenance

It’s not enough of a conquest
Realising the frailties of our kind
Listening beyond my walls
Footsteps on your chosen route

It does me good to peer over
Leave the cynic pacing the corridors
Waiting on the birth
Of yet another bastard child

The lens of my ambitions
Holds the focus of hope
Each arguments shoulder
Joins the endless debate

I will risk your wrath
Because no other path exists
To cure deathbed creases
