House has gone quiet
something amiss
checking all rooms
silence,not bliss.

Into my studio
i did go
there on the floor
face all aglow.

Easel erect
canvas still clean
floor and walls
were not to be seen.

Tubes all open
colours array
closing my eyes
would it all go away.

"Painting like you nannan"
my grandson said.
An artist in the making?
I shudder to dread.

If this is the work
of someone aged one,
will he reach two?
yes. Artist has won.
