Alone.

Through the darkest night
And past all hope I wandered,
Where home was out of sight
And heart and soul were squandered.
Where none could help my plight,
If any ever wondered.
Alone, beyond despair,
Without an arm to lean on.
For no-one walked out there,
Unless they'd been and gone.
So no-one glanced without a care
To such a bleak horizon.
