Buddha made of terracotta

The terracotta buddha
guards a garden's calm,
blackbirds blessing him
with white dabs of bird.

Wearing the weather,
fitted with leaf & twig
snails glossed on lips
eyes covered in web,
his nature redressed.

A soft red man baked
by hard western hands,
casting slow shadows
across short cut grass.
