Lost and Found
Midnight,
and my day of a thousand years
is swept away in astonished tears
as yesterday is stirred and shaken:
you my love I've not forsaken!
Carelessly I set you down,
forgot about you for a time
as life intruded, full of care.
The effort of recalling where
I’d left you last, made me sleepy:
so I slept on - too long, too deeply.
I slumber still, without a sound.
When I awake - will you be found?
