Lost?

Your voice remembered sounds
Like a whisper of the night.
Soft and low it flows.
Hushed so that I might
Feel your presence here
Beyond the light.
Your face remembered there,
Shadowed, like a distant dream.
Close and yet beyond me
As time now stands between
Your heart and mine,
And so it seems
That this, now sacred memory,
Is all I have to hold me tight.
Is all I can remember
As evening draws the fading light
And I am left alone
In dead of night.
