Every night when I’m in bed
I thumb through ‘London A-Z’,
me brain gone into overload
while memorizing every road
from Billingsgate to Haringey.
I need to know the shortest way
from Shepherds Bush to Grosvenor Square,
and where to ply the choicest fare
if I’m to land me longed-for job
I’ll need a green ‘all London’ fob.
